Flower Box Baby Quilt - delivered!

Hello there! It's been such a long time since I have blogged, but I am really going to make an effort this year to continue to document my quilting journey.  You can always see my progress updates on Instagram, but I want to be able to visit with you in more detail here as well.  I have about 6 quilts in the finishing stages, and I want to make sure I document each and every one of them, since they are all a labor of love.

Speaking of labor {ha!}, I started this quilt as a baby gift last year, and just now finished and delivered it, only about 10 months after the sweet little girl was born.  I used a fat eighth bundle of Daydream by Kate Spain. I thought the palette was just perfect for a little girl quilt, and since I only have boys at home, this was the ideal project!

I ran across a tutorial and pattern from Bee in My Bonnet Co. and decided it would perfectly highlight the fabrics.

So, off I went and here is the finished product:

As a side note, I have decided that I really LOVE piecing quilts.  I don't really LOVE quilting the quilts. So, I have found a wonderful quilter who has been doing all of my quilt work for me. And, I am not guilty - not one bit! Emily at Happy Me Quilting does fabulous work and she is very quick! You might actually see one or two of my quilts on her website landing page ;)

The quilt has been delivered to a very appreciative family - and I have finally checked this off my to-do list.

Have a wonderful day - keep calm and quilt on!

  1. Your quilt looks great, and I agree with you about the quilting: not my favorite part of quilt making!! And you're not the only one bad about posting on your blog: it's been months since I've posted! :-) Can't wait to see the other quilts you've been working on! Hugs, H in Healdsburg

  2. HI,so pretty!Thanks for sharing!

  3. That is so pretty. What a great gift that makes.

  4. What a beautiful quilt, the Daydream fabrics are indeed perfectly suited for it. I too am not a fan of quilting. I'll happily piece and bind away but it's always the quilting phase that catches me.

  5. Lovely quilt! Kate spain's fabrics are always a joy

I really love hearing from you ~ thanks for your comments!
