Seriously, is there anything cuter than a pincushion?

I just had to jump in on this prickly little blog hop with Kristin as the cheerleader and, as always, with Madame Samm leading the charge! Today is my day.

First, let me show you a few pincushions I made earlier this year - here is a super easy cathedral window pincushion - tutorial can be found here.
Cathedral Window Pincushion

And here is my itty-bitty 4" pineapple pincushion... so fun.

For this hop, I dug into a stash of orphaned hexies that were just screaming for some attention.  Didn't you just love the Salt Air line that came out last year? I had a charm pack and made a bunch of hexagons and never knew what to do with them...til now!

I think I might have to make about 5 more of these for little gifts, what do you think?  This makes a really good size pincushion - it's bigger than your standard size, about the size of my hand and perfect for keeping track of my pins.

Thanks for stopping by today ~ I would love for you to come back and see me again soon. You can follow this blog two ways:

  40. I adore all your pincushions. Thanks for pointing me to the wonderful tutorial for the cathedral window pin cushion. I think even I might be able to accomplish that. All the ones I have see for the cathedral window seem to have a step missing for me. This seems doable for me. I've been wanting to be in gear and make some pin cushions for quilt guild boutique for June 2014. These would all be wonderful candidates. Thanks for participating and showing pin cushions in wonderful fabric choices. I'm making a Grandmother's Flower Garden - slowly - and hexie pin cushions would be great with the leftover fabrics.
