W.I.P Wednesday - 2013 Project List

It's sort of silly to try to even concoct a project list for the whole year, when I know that fun new things (and fabric purchases) will pop up along the way that will sidetrack me from my goals.  But, as I sit here on January 1st, I do feel the need to try to create a roadmap for 2013, if for nothing else than to have a post to look back on at the end of 2013 and see how far off the rails I went ;)

Finish A Very Hexie Christmas - possibly taking to long arm shop?

Finish Quilting Twister (blogged here)

Cartwheels - this has been my Christmas break project.  I snagged a free download of Freshly Pieced's Cartwheel block a while back (the full pattern is available at Threadbias here) and I've been waiting for inspiration to strike.  Since I had about 10 days off for the holidays, I got busy paper piecing and I've made a pretty good dent in it.  Because I didn't have the full pattern, I had to guesstimate fabric amounts.  Luckily, I had the fabric from a quilt kit I bought on super sale from Fons and Porter's website that I decided not to make, and it was the perfect solution!  Here are some pics of that project. I don't often use such a bold color for the background, but I really like the way it's turning out.  The pictures aren't quite true to color, the background is a coral.

Dare to Dresden - I've got a sweet Dresden Pillow in the works - I"ll be hosting a spot on this blog hop later this month or in February!
Russian Rubix - I bought this pattern last year and I'm just dying to make it for a special someone.

Baby Quilt for S - gender still unknown
Baby Quilt for J - gender still unknown

    1. Color Bee Shocked - 12 month online bee, currently in month 3. I'm hosting in June - YAY!

Lucky Stars BOM - paper piecing BOM hosted by Don't Call Me Betsy.  I got the practice block on December 26th and the first month's block today.  I will be tackling that later this week.
